Rayvanny reveals how he lost Sh70 million at Wasafi gig

Bongo Flava star Rayvanny has revealed that he lost Sh70 million while endeavouring to set up a video set for his Wasafi Festival performance in Mbeya region.

The BET Award winner uploaded a video on his YouTube channel detailing the construction of a temporary swimming pool at the Sokoine football pitch for his 2023 Wasafi Festival performance.

The short documentary depicts the construction of the swimming pool, but despite the strenuous efforts of the builders, the pool collapsed after completion, resulting into Rayvanny's financial loss.

Despite the setback, Rayvanny's show went on, and other artists stepped up and delivered spectacular stage performances with elaborate and imaginative sets.

Diamond Platnumz made a grand entrance, performing on a multi-level stage constructed from shipping containers, while Zuchu took the stage in a classroom-themed set, donning a primary school uniform alongside her dancers.

Mbosso captivated the audience by performing in a traditional long gown known as Dera in Swahili.

The swimming pool incident isn't the first time Rayvanny has invested a significant budget to bring a project to life.

When filming his 2022 music video I Miss You featuring Zuchu, the singer disclosed that he constructed a brand new house from the ground up, only to intentionally set it on fire for a specific scene in the video.

Rayvanny's dedication to his craft and his willingness to invest in his performances are commendable, even though his recent swimming pool mishap was costly.

His fans appreciate his efforts, and they continue to support him as he delivers high-quality entertainment.
