Comoros. The Dar es Salaam-based Exim Bank Tanzania has opened its fifth branch in Comoros as it seeks to cement its presence in the sovereign Indian Ocean archipelago.
The branch is at Mitsamiouli in Grand Comoros.
Speaking during the branch’s inaugural ceremony held over the weekend, the Governor of the Central Bank of Comoros, Mr Mze Abdou Mohamed Chanfiou, commended Exim Bank for its sustained contribution in developing an effective, efficient and sustainable financial sector in the Union of Comoros.
He said the establishment of the Mitsamiouli branchbrings Exim closer to its clients.
Earlier, the bank’s Country Head, Mr Ganesh Kumar said apart from its expansion, Exim Bank is also committed to investing massively in technology for the benefit of the Comorians.
“This is how we will attract many customers who contribute to our fast growth and development,’’ he said.
The inauguration was also attended by the Vice Governor of the Isles’ Central Bank, Chairman of the Board of Central Bank, Chief of the town of Mitsamiouli and the bank’s Local Director, Mr Moumini Ali Amini.
