DSE share indices show mixed trend

Dar es Salaam. The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) share indices closed at a mixed trend during an opening day of the week.

The DSE All Share Index (DSEI) fell while the Tanzania share Index (TSI) remained flat.

A DSE market report shows that the DSEI closed at 2,069.71 points on Monday, down from 2,090.26 points during the closing session last week.

The DSEI fall was attributed to a drop in share prices of cross-listed companies. The Acacia share price fell to Sh5,450 on Monday’s close from Sh5,500 during Friday’s close of last week.

The EABL share price declined to Sh4,120 during the Monday’s close from a closing price of Sh4,340 on Friday last week while the Jubilee Holdings share price dropped to Sh8,200 from Sh8,250.

The total market capitalisation fell to Sh19.1 trillion from Sh20.1 trillion during the period. The report shows that the TSI, which measures the performance of locally listed companies, remained at 3,705.06 points during the period under review, as there were no any price changes among local firms.

The market report shows that a total turnover of Sh37.98 million was recorded during an opening day of the week, higher than Sh23.05 million recorded during the closing day of last week.

Local investors accounted for 100 per cent for both selling and buying transactions during the opening day of this week.
