Turkish Airlines load factor rises by 81pc

  • Turkish Airlines load factor for November went up by 81.4 per cent, after recording positive growth on passengers, revenue per kilometer, cargo and mail volume.

Dar es Salaam. Turkish Airlines monthly load factor rose by 81.4 per cent in November compared with a similar month last year.

That was attributed to the positive growth in the number of passengers, the statement by the airline’s office in Dar es Salaam showed.

“This is an important indicator of the continued growing interest in Turkey and Turkish Airlines in the last quarter of the year as well,” noted the statement.

According to November 2018 traffic results, the total number of passenger growth was 4 per cent , reaching 5.5 million passengers.

That was higher than the number recorded in November 2017-.

The total load factor improved by 2 points compared with the same period in 2017.

The international load factor increased by 3 points: to 81 per cent.

The domestic load factor reached to 84 per cent.

The report shows that an international-to-international transfer passengers (transit passengers) increased by 8 per cent, while the number of international passengers -excluding international-to-international transfer passengers (transit passengers)— rose by 13 per cent.

Cargo/mail volume continued the double digit growth trend and increased by 25 per cent, compared with the same period in 2017.

Main contributors to the growth in cargo/mail volume, according to the report, were North America with 45 per cent, Africa with 32 per cent, Far East with 23 per cent and Europe recorded a 21 per cent increase.

Turkish Airlines has a fleet of 332 (passenger and cargo) aircraft flying to 305 worldwide destinations as 49 domestic and 256 international in 123 countries.
