Dawasa targets to have 300,000 new customers in next two years

Dar es Salaam. Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Corporation (Dawasa) targets to have 300,000 new customers by 2020.

If the goal is achieved, 95 per cent of Dar es Salaam will have clean and safe water, according to Dawasa chief executive Cyprian Luhemeja.

He was speaking today, on November 16, 2018, about the corporation’s achievements and targets.

He said during the past three years Dawasa got 100,000 customers.

He also said water leakage had been reduced from 57 to 37 per cent while revenue collection had risen from Sh2.9 billion a month in 2015 to Sh10.5 billion a month.

The aim is to collect Sh12 billion a month.
