East Africa Got talent auditions ready to roll in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam. One month after it was launched, talent search programme Got Talent is set to hold the producer’s auditions in Tanzania this weekend at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Center.

Pre-auditions will be held in each of the four participating countries followed by Theatre Auditions which will be recorded in Nairobi. The semifinals and finale will broadcast live from Nairobi later in the year.

Produced by Rapid Blue the producers of the South African and Nigerian editions the show is set to pick 30 candidates from the Tanzanian edition who will join the other three nations in Nairobi for the finals.

The multi-talent search is expected to attract thousands who will be looking for an opportunity of a lifetime as they showcase their talent to the worldwide audiences.

Speaking exclusively to The Citizen, Joseph Kusaga of Clouds Media Group said arrangements were in place and that the production crew was already in the country and ready for the task ahead.

“We are expecting a large turnout but we have put in place a system on how to deal with this and besides we have also encouraged contestant to bring their entries through WhatsApp,” he said.

The Dar es Salaam auditions come after the success of production auditions by the same team in Mombasa and Uganda.

The show’s franchise in Tanzania is held by Clouds Media Group and will be  hosted by Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime.
