Magufuli to grace Maulid council meeting

Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli is expected to grace the Maulid council meeting planned for November 20, 2018 at Korogwe District in Tanga region.

The council, which will be preceded by the Maulid ceremony on November 19, will discuss, among other things, moral decline in the country.

Announcing this year's Maulid ceremony while speaking to journalists today, November 13, in Dar es Salaam, the Head of National Muslim Council (Bakwata), Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir, said that preparation for both events were in place.

"We hereby invite all Muslims and non-muslims to attend the two events where one (Maulid council meeting) will be officiated by the president and among other things, we want the Maulid ceremony to help in mitigating moral decline among our youths," he said.

Sheikh Zubeir also called upon the public to prepare for the upcoming ceremony by enhancing good morals as well as maintaining peace as the two were among the most important issues in facilitating the country’s development.

"As we wait for this great moment, I hereby urge the youth in the Muslim community and the entire public to continue maintaining peace and at the same time adhere to our morals," he said.

The Head of Bakwata also called upon the Muslim community and the public to get ready for the forthcoming 50 years anniversary of Bakwata scheduled for November 15 to 17.

"The end of Maulid ceremony will as well welcome the historic event, 50 years since Bakwata was established in the country. We will get a chance to let the public know the history of Bakwata and its mission as far as the Muslim and country at large are concerned," he said.
