Mbabane Swallows hail high-flying Simba

Dar es Salaam.Eswatini’s Mbabane Swallows have hailed Mainland giants for cruising into the first round of the Caf Champions League.

The Msimbazi Reds, as Simba are popularly known, booked a place in the next stage of the Champions League with an 8-1 win on aggregate at the expense of the Swaziland outfit.

After humiliating Swallows 4-1 in the preliminary round, first leg in Dar es Salaam last week, Simba travelled to Swaziland with confidence.

On Tuesday, they inflicted a painful 4-0 defeat on hostsSwallows to sail though on a 8-1 aggregate.

In regards to this performance, Swallows leadership wrote in its online daily updates congratulating Simba.

The message reads “Congratulations to Simba Sports Club for advancing to the next stage as they humbled our team again 4 0 (8-1) on aggregate...Good luck on your Caf journey, we lost to a very good team. Dream big you will go far...We love you..Til we meet again.”

In Mbabane, Zambian midfielder Cletus Chama was named man of the match after scoring two goals for Simba.

He scored in the 27th and 32nd minutes for a 2-0 half time lead.

The player has so far scored three goals for the Msimbazi Street team in two encounters.

Strikers Emanuel Okwi and MeddieKagere scored two more goals in the 51st and 61st minutes.

In the first leg, Simba captain John Bocco scored two goals to steer his team to a 4-1 home win.

Simba will now face the winner of a match between Nkana Red Devils of Zambia and UD Songo of Mozambique. The clash takes place today in Kitwe, Zambia.
