Over 60 football agents coming for U-17 Afcon

Dar es Salaam. Over 60 football agents from around the world are expected in the country early next month ahead of the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals.

Two venues – National Stadium and Azam Complex – will host the finals scheduled for April 14 to 28.

The agents are among 1,000 football officials and fans that will start arriving in the country on April 10 for the much anticipated tournament.

Speaking to The Citizen yesterday, the Afcon organising committee secretary general, Leslie Liunda, assured football stakeholders that preparations for the finals were course.

“Hundreds of football officials and fans, including football administrators from Caf (Confederation of African Football) and sports journalists, will be in Tanzania during the finals of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations,” said Liunda.

According to him, Caf will have 72 officials. There will also be 24 referees and 100 sports journalists.
