TZ coaches urged to use ITK Pathfinder project for success

Dar es Salaam.  The Magnet Youth Sports Organisation has urged 25 coaches who have received modern training on coaching youth players to deliver for the benefit of the nation.

The call has been made by Magnet Youth Sports Organization Managing Director Tuntufye Mwambusi during the closing ceremony of the eight-day coaching clinic run by German instructors under the Leipzig University.

The varsity has enabled to bring to life a football project under the ITK Program known as ITK Pathfinder Project for 2019.

Mwambusi said the coaches were needed to show commitment and not to keep their certificates in their briefcases contrary to the purpose of the training.

According to Mwambusi, the coaches have been awarded the certificate, which are equivalent to the German Football Federation (DFB) licence B.

He said that their organization would like to see positive results of the training conducted at the Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Youth Park (JMK Youth Park in Dar es Salaam.

“Our aim is to enable the country to get notable development in football. You cannot attain that if you are not investing in professionals. We believe the 25 coaches will do the best and inspire our organization to conduct more coaching training seminars through the ITK Program,” said Mwambusi.

He said Tanzania has many talented football players, but they are lacking modern training to attain success in their career.

“Our organization is committed to youth football development and we are very happy to work with the Dar es Salaam Regional Football Association (DRFA), the Tanzania Football Coaches Association (Tafca) and the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) in the project,” he said.

For his part, DRFA Chairman Almas Kasongo commended the Magnet Youth Sports Organisation for showing patriotism for Tanzania’s football development and called upon other organizations to follow in its footsteps.

Kasongo said that the task of developing football is not only for TFF and DRFA, but it also needs support from stakeholders to attain the goal.

“The Magnet Youth Sports Organisation has shown the way, we commend them and call on them to maintain that. I have been spoken with TFF President Wallace Karia on the matter and assured me they will support it, it is the best foundation for the country’s football development,” said Kasongo.

He said DRFA will work together with the Magnet Youth Sports Organisation in order to make football in the region and the country at large attain development.

Kasongo also said DRFA will make a follow-up on coaches in order to see whether what they learnt in the course is transforming the country’s football.

The 2019 ITK Pathfinder Project is being supported by RB Leipzig striker and patron of the project Yussuf Poulsen who has his roots in Tanzania.

A total of 120 youth players attended the training under German football experts Martin Hammel, Andreas Pach and their interpreter Veronika Kral.
