TRC shifts main station to Kamata temporarily

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC) will temporarily shift its Dar es Salaam main station to Kariakoo’s Kamata station with effect from Monday, September 3.

The changes have been made to pave the way for a major renovation at the main station, an advert from TRC customer care unit on Friday, August 31, has revealed.

The renovation, according to TRC would last for a period of not less than eight months.

“All passengers using TRC trains will have to use the Kamata station temporarily because the Dar es Salaam main station will be undergoing major renovation,” TRC said in an advert.

Currently, the Dar es Salaam station through TRC serves passengers   traveling via central railway to Dodoma, Singida, Tabora and Kigoma regions.

Also there are two commuter trains plying between city centre to Ubungo and Pugu destinations.
