Temeke lawmaker calls it quit with CUF

The Civic United Front (CUF) has lost another parliamentarian after Temeke Member of Parliament Abdallah Mtolea announced to resign from the party that has been plagued by internal disputes. The party has so far lost three Members of Parliament.

Dar es Salaam. Temeke Member of Parliament Abdalla Mtolea has announced his resignation from his leadership posts within the Civic United Front (CUF) citing that he is not impressed by the internal dispute that has torn the party into two.

According to sources, Mr Mtolea announced his resignation in Dodoma where he was attending the ongoing parliamentary session. His resignation from the party means the Temeke constituency seat will be vacant until a by-election is held.

Mr Mtolea becomes the third MP to resign from CUF since the 2015 general elections after Liwale MP Mohammed Kuchauka and Kinondoni MP Maulid Mtulia.

However, Mr Mtolea did not explain his next move but only hinted that he would be ready to join with any party that will show interest in accepting him.
