Chadema candidate to contest defeat in court

Speaking today Mr Mwang’ombe said he intends to challenge Mr Pirmohamed's victory in court because the election was marred by irregularities.

Mbarali. Chadema parliamentary candidate for Mbarali seat Mr Liberatus Mwang’ombe, who was defeated by CCM 's Mr Haroon Pirmohamed, will contest the result in court.

Speaking today Mr Mwang’ombe said he intends to challenge Mr Pirmohamed's victory in court because the election was marred by irregularities.

In the election Mr Pirmohamed garnered a total of 45,352 votes against Mr Mwang’ombe who scored a total of 36,603 and Mr Modestus Kilufi who garnered a total of 20,606.

“I am currently consulting my party lawyers and I will file a petition after collecting enough evidence,” said Mr Mwang’ombe.

According to Mr Mwang’ombe, there are irregularities between the number of people who turned up and  those who voted in some of polling centers in the constituencies

Mr Mwang’ombe said he registered his complaints to the constituency returning officer but  Mr Adam Mgoyi refused to re-count the votes.
