TPSF and European Business group ink pact

Dar es Salaam.  The European Business Group (EUBG) and the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) have inked an agreement with a view of promoting business development and investment in the country. 

The two entities signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday , December 3, that will guide them on identifying key areas of collaboration such as research, investment promotion, and policy advocacy. 

Acting chairperson of TPSF board Ms Angelina Ngalula said under the MoU, the EUBG will provide technical support to TPSF in areas such as research, studies, providing technical expertise, sustainability, business strategy and business development. 

She added that TPSF will provide insights and share empiric experience on business investment and advocacy in the country from its wider role in the economy. 

"Our union will bring us together, guiding us in developing advocacy and business related activities in Tanzania, particularly with the government ministries, departments and regulatory authorities," she said.

The board chairman of EUBG Mr Hans Lemm said his group represents traders and investors from European countries here in Tanzania. 

He said they will develop research projects to outline positive interventions to enhance the business environment in Tanzania. 

"Research areas will include tax administration, labour and employment legislation, investment promotion, implementation of the Blueprint and its impact on business and investment climate," he noted.
