Dar es Salaam. President John Magufuli has called on world leaders to put God at the forefront in the fight against Covid-19.
President Magufuli made the call on Friday, December 25, at the Mary Immaculate Virgin Parish at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma shortly after attending the Christmas Mass.
A State House statement signed by the director of presidential communications Gerson Msigwa says that the President has asked world leaders to put God at the forefront in the fight against Covid-19 that has killed millions people across the globe instead of depending on powers of human beings alone.
“God’s grace and miracles have been manifested on Tanzania during this period when the world is passing through a hard time because of the Covid-19 pandemic. As thousands of people lose lives every day, Tanzania has been freed from the pandemic and life continues as usual,” he is quoted in the statement as saying.
Wishing Tanzanians Happy Christmas, Magufuli has asked the nation to thank God and ask him to continue protecting the country against the disease and pray for people of other countries.
During the mass presided by the parish’s priest Paul Mapalala, Dr Magufuli called on Tanzanians to continue working hard in productive ventures in order to develop the country.
