“Rukwa residents and some of us who knew the late Chang’a will dearly miss him especially in environmental conservation matters. He played a big role in this area,”

Dar es Salaam. The body of Kalambo District Commissioner Moshi Chang’a, will be laid to rest tomorrow at his Kihesa home village in Iringa Region.

Chang’a, who died on Sunday at Muhimbili National Hospital where he was admitted for more than 20 days, was suffering from hypertension and diabetes, according to his relatives. The brother of the late DC, Mr Faustine Kikove, told The Citizen yesterday ,that they were finalising plans to transport the body from his city home at Mbagala Kibonde Maji to Kihesa in Iringa for burial.

Ms Stella Manyanya, the regional commissioner for Rukwa, where the fallen DC was working, was among mourners who visited Mr Chang’a’s home in Dar es Salaam to console the family.

According to her, Rukwa had lost a dedicated public servant who gave all his time and energy to serve the people.

“Rukwa residents and some of us who knew the late Chang’a will dearly miss him especially in environmental conservation matters. He played a big role in this area,” she said.

The RC said the deceased had just started implementing his plans for the district and that his death has dealt a big blow to his vision for the area and the people.

The late Moshi Chang’a was born in 1952 at Kihesa Village in Iringa Region. He served in various positions in the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi and the government. He also served as the district commissioner for Mbeya, Tabora, Bukoba and lately Kalambo.
