Dar es Salaam. Voting at Kimara Stop Over went smoothly except for delays in two voting centres.

Residents who had turned up to vote at EDP Royal A and B, expressed their disappointment over the delay in the two polling centers.

Voters decided to confront National Electoral Commission (NEC) officials to express their anger.

Mr Peter Kimaro told The Citizen that he arrived at the polling center at around 5:00 AM but he was yet to vote at 3:30 PM.

“They told us that the ballot papers were to arrive from NEC headquarters: it's really annoying because NEC headquarters are few kilometers from Kimara,” he said.

Another resident Mr Ayubu Athuman lamented about the lack of information: “We are  stranded here and no one is telling us whether we will vote today or tomorrow."

Returning officer at the station Mr Julius Nyamhonga said:  “It is true that we received few voting kits especially ballot papers and that's why the exercise was delayed."
