MCL journalists have been released

They were among ten journalists arrested earlier on Thursday while on duty at Lucky Vincent School where the Mayor, together with school owners, religious leaders and parents of the deceased had gone to give their condolences.

Arusha.Two MCL reporters, Zephania Ubwani (The Citizen) and Filbert Rweyemamu (Mwananchi) have been released by Arusha police.

They were among ten journalists arrested earlier on Thursday while on duty at Lucky Vincent School where the Mayor, together with school owners, religious leaders and parents of the deceased had gone to give their condolences.

 Thirty five lives were lost in a car crash recently that involved 32 pupils, 2 teachers and one driver from Lucky Vincent.

Some other journalists have also been released.

Earlier, Acting Regional Police Commander Yusuph Ilembo told journalists in Arusha that the arrest was ordered by Arusha Regional Commissioner Mr Mrisho Gambo.
