TPDF reign supreme in Dar league

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania People’s Defence Force (TPDF) stamped their authority in the Dar es Salaam Hockey League with a crushing 15-0 victory over Makongo at the JMK Youth Park over the weekend. The victory placed the army owned team at the summit of the Group B table with 26 points after playing nine matches.
TPDF, who are among the top side primed to clinch this year’s title, have so far won nine matches while drawing once against fellow giants Dar Khalsa. Amos Ngambara and Elias Samala were the match’s men of the match after registering their names many times in the score sheet. Samala scored seven goals and Ngambara added six more as Othman Mbaruku and Focus Kihombo scored one apiece.
In another match, Kigamboni laboured to claim a 4-3 win over hard-fighting UDSM at the same.
Joseph Thomas netted the opener for Kigamboni in fourth minute after connecting home a pass from Noel Albert. Albert added the second goal in the sixth minute after UDSM defenders failed to clear the ball in the area. UDSM fought hard and four minutes later they managed to reduce the margin through Bangule Batholomew strike.
The teams finished the first half with Kigamboni leading 2-1.
Kigamboni were the first to score in the second half through
