Dar es Salaam. The football scene is abuzz with rumors of Azam Football Club's potential recruitment drive, aiming to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming Mainland Tanzania Premier League season.

Speculations are widespread that the club officials have tabled a substantial offer of Sh400 million to secure the services of Young Africans (Yanga)’s Clement Mzize, whose contract is said to conclude at the season's end.

Despite Azam FC information officer Thabit Zakaria, alias Zaka Zakazi, remaining tight-lipped about the negotiations, insider sources affirm the seriousness with which the Ice-Cream makers are pursuing Mzize.

Zakaria hinted at a directive from the team's technical bench, stressing the need for a local striker to fortify their ranks for the challenges ahead.

"Mzize is hyped as one of the Mainland Tanzania Premier League's local strikers who can work with any coach. While he may not yet rival the prowess of John Bocco, he exhibits promising talent that every coach desires," said Zakaria, underlining Mzize's potential as a coveted asset.

He said despite being involved in crucial league fixtures, Azam FC have intensified its scouting efforts to identify top talents ripe for recruitment. "Our objective is to increase the team's strength, and we are committed to pursuing the recommendations put forth by our technical bench at any cost.

As the registration window draws near, anticipation mounts for strategic reinforcements,” he said.

Azam FC assistant coach Yousuph Dabo shed light on the range of standout players capable of seamlessly integrating into any coach's tactical setup, owing to their exceptional skills and standards.

Dabo named Stephane Aziz Ki, Djigui Diarra, and Clement Mzize who play for Yanga, alongside Clatous Chama and Kibu Dennis representing Simba Sports Club.

Dabo, admitting Mzize's prowess, highlighted the depth of talent within the league, singling out Chama, Azizi Ki, Diarra, and Denis Kibu as stellar performers. "Beyond Mzize's undeniable talent, there exists a pool of exceptional players like Chama, Azizi Ki, Diarra, and Denis Kibu," said Dabo.

"Their consistent displays of excellence reaffirm their potential to significantly enhance any team,” he said.

As the curtain falls on this chapter, all eyes are on Azam FC as they navigate the difficult web of negotiations, poised to secure their targets and lay the groundwork for a formidable campaign in the forthcoming season.
