What you need to know:

Addressing reporters at Protea Court Yard Hotel premises, Mr Nnauye said since President Magufuli didn't consult him before appointment, he had rights to make appointment of his replacement without any prior consultations.

Dar es Salaam. Former Information Minister, Mr Nape Nnauye said today he has received President John Magufuli's mini cabinet reshuffle with a clean heart and that he thanked the Head of State for the trust he had on him.

Addressing reporters at Protea Court Yard Hotel premises, Mr Nnauye said since President Magufuli didn't consult him before appointment, he had rights to make appointment of his replacement without any prior consultations.

"Therefore I am thankful to President Magufuli for trusting me and cooperation I got for the whole one year I served as Information Minister. Hopefully, the same cooperation would be extended to the newly appointed Minister Dr Harrison Mwakyembe. You should also support President Magufuli because he is our Head of State” he said.

Before addressing reporters, Mr Nnauye survived an arrest attempt from security officers. Soon after Nape’s vehicles arrived, one police car blocked an exit near Cardinal Rugambwa memorial building and the other parked close to Mr Nnauye car. Two officer alighted from the cars pointing a pistol to former CCM Publicity and Ideology Secretary ordering him to return inside his vehicle.

Mr Nnauye refused the orders and managed to address journalists from his vehicle.

End.
