The six week promotion campaign, which started yesterday, Wednesday, November 7, will benefit a total of 1,302 users who will qualify for the promotion, included 1,200 users who will win twice the amount they deposited in their accounts in the first two weeks.

Speaking yesterday during the launch of the promotion, Mr Julius Konyani the head of CBA personal banking said among those winners first 15 customers who borrow money from M-power and pay it back before 30 days (the loan maturity day) will be awarded with Sh100,000 each.

He added that, “other five winners will win tri-cycles and in the final draw which will be conducted in the sixth week there would be one winner who will pocket Sh1 million. But we will announce few winners in every week”.

He then added that CBE and Vodacom will be conducting the campaign to connect more bank users who face difficulties in accessing banks for loans, so that they can just use their phone to access the same.

For his part, Vodacom Marketing manager Noel Mazoya said given the fact that many Tanzanian were from the low income category, they set a minimum amount of between Sh1,000 and Sh100,000 so that they would afford making savings in form of deposits.

“To attract our customers we have started this six week promotion. Lower income earners can deposit any amount they have from Sh1,000 and above,” he said. One of M-pawa users who benefited from several promotions, Dar es Salaam resident Caroline Mutembei said M-pawa has benefited her in accessing cheap and fast loans.
