Zuchu shines at AFRIMMA as Best new Comer
Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s rising star Zuchu on Sunday emerged as the Best Newcomer Award of the AFRIMMA 2020, organizers have announced, a category that was one of the most anticipated categories of the awards night.
She won the prize ahead of Kofi Mole and J Derobie from Ghana, Fanicko from Benin, Omah Lay and Oxlade from Nigeria, Shasha from Zimbabwe, Mc One from Cote d’Ivoire, Edgar Domingos from Angola and Ami Faku from South Africa.
Zuchu’s boss, Diamond Platinumz on the other hand won the Best Male Act, East Africa, making it three awards for Tanzania though the awards after Nandy, the self styled African Princess, won the Best Female East Africa.
In her first year, Zuchu has gained recognition into the music world with several hit singles such as ‘Wana’, ‘Kwarua’ and ‘Che Che’ which has set night clubs on fire.
She is among the artistes who is signed on Wasafi Record Label which is under the stewardship of Diamond Platnumz. Zuchu, was the only Tanzanian nominated in the category.
