St Joseph varsity in Songea

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) has today revoked earlier approval to establish two colleges of St. Joseph University in Songea for delivering poor quality of education.

Announcing the decision in Dar es Salaam, TCU Executive Secretary Prof Yunus Mgaya named the colleges as; St. Joseph University College of Agricultural Science and Technology (SJUCAST) and St. Joseph College of Information Technology (SJUCIT).

He said a total of 2,046 students pursuing degrees, diplomas in the mentioned colleges will be transferred to other universities and that information will be communicated through the TCU website.

He named students receiving institutions as the Sokoine University of Agriculture (Sua), Ruaha Catholic University (Rucu), University of Dodoma and Mwenge Catholic University (Mwecau).

Professor Mgaya said St. Joseph University will incur all expenses for student transfers.
