Matinyi replaces Msigwa as new government spokesperson

Dar es Salaam. President Samia Suluhu Hassan has, on Sunday, October 1, 2023, appointed Mr Mobhare Matinyi as new director of Tanzania Information Services (Maelezo) and the Chief Government Spokesperson.
The appointment, announced by presidential communications director Zuhura Yunus, says Mr Matinyi assumes the new roles with immediate effect.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Matinyi served as Temeke District Commissioner (DC) effectively from July 23, this year.
He is replacing Mr Gerson Msigwa who was last week appointed the new Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Culture, Arts, and Sports.
