Arusha. The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) recently held an engaging meeting with its major clients in Arusha, including corporate entities, individual customers, and various institutions.
The event aimed to explore emerging business opportunities, introduce innovative banking services, and deepen clients’ understanding of the value these services provide.
It also served as a platform to gather feedback on how to enhance service delivery and better meet customer needs.
Organised as a special dinner event, the gathering was spearheaded by NBC’s Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) team, led by Mr Elvis Ndunguru, the Director of Corporate Clients, alongside senior officials from the bank’s head office and Arusha branches.

In his remarks, Mr Ndunguru emphasised that the initiative forms part of NBC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with its clients. It was also an opportunity to unveil services tailored for this segment, including NBC Connect, and to facilitate valuable networking among stakeholders.
“As a leading player in the financial services sector, NBC is committed to delivering excellence and working collaboratively with our clients,” said Mr Ndunguru. “Our pledge is driven by constant innovation and technological progress.”
He further explained that the meeting served as a platform to showcase key improvements made to the bank’s services and to introduce enhanced digital solutions designed to address evolving client needs.

NBC used the occasion to outline broader strategies focused on serving clients more efficiently, strengthening business networks, and bringing banking services closer to them. NBC Connect was presented as a key enabler in this effort, specifically targeting corporates, private enterprises, and government institutions.
“We believe that a clear understanding of our clients’ needs and aspirations is the foundation of quality service,” Mr Ndunguru stated. “Gatherings such as this provide us with meaningful insights that shape our innovations and enhance the overall banking experience.”
He also highlighted priority areas NBC is focusing on to build and maintain strong partnerships with businesses across Tanzania.
These include innovative financial solutions, technological integration, strategic collaborations, driving economic growth, and reinforcing corporate social responsibility—particularly in the sectors of education, health, and environmental conservation.
“We invite the wider business community to engage with us and discover the benefits of working together. NBC is truly committed to your growth, offering essential tools and fostering partnerships that make a difference. We aspire to be a trusted financial partner across the country,” he added.
Client reactions were overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the relevance of the engagement given Arusha’s ongoing economic transformation—largely fuelled by the tourism boom following President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s Royal Tour initiative.
“Arusha is experiencing rapid economic growth, driven by tourism, trade, agriculture, and industry. It is encouraging to see NBC supporting stakeholders in these sectors through modern, efficient services. Their digital offerings, in particular, have been instrumental in facilitating financial transactions and government payments,” said Mr Abdallah Kiwango of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA).
