Jakarta. President Samia Suluhu Hassan touched down in Indonesia today, kicking off a three-day state visit aimed at boosting bilateral relations and securing new economic partnerships.

Warmly received by the Indonesian Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, President Samia Suluhu Hassan wasted no time in setting the tone for the trip, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties between Tanzania and Indonesia.

This visit builds on the momentum generated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo's trip to Tanzania in August 2023, which resulted in seven key agreements across various sectors.

These included visa exemptions, health cooperation, and partnerships in energy, mining, electricity, and oil.

But this is just the beginning. President Hassan's visit is expected to yield even more fruitful collaborations, with a focus on trade, investment, agriculture, and education.

The Tanzania-Indonesia Business Forum is set to be a key platform for exploring new opportunities and solidifying existing partnerships.

"This visit signifies a significant step forward in our bilateral relations," declared Foreign Affairs and East Africa Minister January Makamba.

"We are confident that President Hassan's fruitful interactions with Indonesian leaders will unlock fresh avenues for collaboration and benefit our people in both countries."
