TRC adds extra Dodoma–Dar train trips to meet post-Parliament demand

Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC) has announced additional train services between Dodoma and Dar es Salaam to accommodate increased travel demand following the conclusion of parliamentary sessions.

According to a statement issued yesterday, the extra trips will operate on June 27 and 28, 2025, using Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) trains.

“This additional service is aimed at meeting the increased travel demand from the public and various stakeholders returning from Dodoma to different destinations, especially Dar es Salaam and other cities, following the conclusion of parliamentary sessions,” said TRC’s Public Relations Manager, Mr Fredy Mwanjala, in the statement.

The additional train on June 27 will depart Dodoma for Dar es Salaam at 7:20 pm, while the service on June 28 will depart at 6:50 am.

TRC has urged passengers to arrive at the station at least two hours before departure and encouraged them to purchase tickets online via the official TRC website.
