 Dar es Salaam. The Western Coral Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam has scooped the Best Western Hotel in Africa award after emerging tops out of 21 hotels on the continent.

Best Western Hotels and Resorts, an international hotel chain with over 4200 hotels in 100+ countries, hosted its first ever Africa Hotelier’s Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa, recently.

The Best Western Coral Beach is an urban seafront boutique hotel located on the Masaki Peninsula with 62 bedrooms and a variety of meeting and event facilities.

A statement issued by the hotel says the award was based on obtaining the top scores for the brand’s Quality Assurance program, which includes customer feedback.

During the awards ceremony, a team from the Best Western Coral Beach Hotel in Dar es Salaam was presented with “Quality Award in Recognition of Achieving the Best of Best Western Hotels in Africa 2018”. Mr Ajay Bhadouria, the hotel general manager, said: “Our incredible staff is committed to ensuring our guests have an authentic and memorable experience – all while delivering warm Tanzanian hospitality and international standards of comfort, safety, and convenience.”

He said the hotel will continuously work to improve the quality of its products and services and that they are proud to be recognised by the Best Western brand on a regional level.

Ms Juliet Marandu, the hotel’s senior reservations manager, said: “The hospitality industry is evolving at a rapid pace. I am fortunate to have attended this event and have gained a deeper knowledge of revenue management, new technologies, and operational best practices. I look forward to sharing these insights with my team.”
