11 people arrested on Kome Island over illegal logging

Mwanza. Police are holding 11 people for transporting forest products without permits. The suspects were caught on Kome Mchangani Island in Sengerema on Friday with 3,000 pieces of timber.
Mwanza Regional Police Commander, Ahmed Msangi, said the suspects were caught sailing in three boats before they reached Mwanza City. The suspects, all who are residents of Geita are Philipo Peter,28, Majaliwa Abdallah,32, Thobias Emmanuel,33, Maneno Peter,18, Shedrack Faustine,24, and Kitukula Munyembe ,39. Others are Dotto Roma,45, John Emmanuel,36, Richard Mwita,27, Jones Jonathan 19, and Mwesi Hangere.
