All dormant industries will be repossessed, says President Magufuli

 President John Magufuli directs ministry of industry, trade and investments to repossess all dormant industries in the country.

The President said there are about 197 dormant industries in the country.

He issued the directive during a ceremony to launch Kilimanjaro Cement Company in Tanga on Sunday.

“We made mistakes at the first place (when we privatized industries) so you (the minister) shouldn’t do the same,” said the President.

He added, “…if they (investors) will take us to court we will deal with them in accordance to the laws.”

He also directed Regional Commissioners across the country to identify dormant industries in their areas of jurisdiction and repossess them.
