NGOs to enjoy new services

Dar es Salaam. Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania (DTB Tanzania) on Thursday launched a new account that is specifically designed to meet the needs and requirements of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Known as Community Account, the product comes with zero operational fees except for actuals (cheque book and transfer fees) to Not-for-Profit entities such as charities, NGOs, religious organisations, societies, clubs and trusts.

Launching the account in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, the TDB Tanzania country manager and chief executive officer, Mr Viju Cherian, said the account is available in Tanzania shilling and in US dollars. It also offers online access to customers every time via Internet banking.

“The product benefits include interest on average monthly float balances above Sh50 million or $50,000 and free salary processing for Not-for–profit employees who opt to bank with DTB Tanzania,” he said.

DTB Tanzania has a network of 28 branches in Tanzania out of which 14 branches in Dar es Salaam.

It is part of the Diamond Trust Bank group, a pan-East African bank with over 130 branches.
