Dar es Salaam. The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has warned traders against issuing receipts that do not show the true amounts of money spent on purchases.

TRA taxpayer service and education director Richard Kayombo told The Citizen that stern measures would be taken against such unscrupulous traders.

“Buyers should be careful and ensure that they get digital receiptsthat show actual purchases,” he warned. He thanked the public for cooperating with TRA to the extent that the malpractices were being unearthed. He stressed that TRA would not tolerate tax evasion.
