Premier Majaliwa allay fears over export of mineral sand

Dar es Salaam. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has allayed fears that the President decision to ban exportation of mineral sands will scare away investors.

He made the assurance today after he made an impromptu visit to Buzwagi Gold Mine where he halted transportation of 180 copper concentrate containers. Mr Majaliwa said the President banned exportation of containers filled with mineral sand so as to know the exact content of the cargo.

Mr Majaliwa said the sample of the mineral sand will be taken to laboratory to establish whether the sand contain 50 per cent of cooper and silver as it has been claimed.
