Tight security as President Magufuli views soccer match for first time

Dar es Salaam.  Soccer fans who turned up at the National Stadium today to witness President John Magufuli crowning the Mainland champions, Simba Sports Club, experienced an uncommon situation that was tight security.

The situation made famous soccer fans known as "Makomandoo" fail to watch the encounter between Simba and Kagera Sugar for free as it used to be in the past.

Every soccer fan was supposed to stand in a queue in order get access to the stadium and watch the match.

Every corner of the National Stadium was covered with tight security and the soccer fans were directed to buy their tickets through electronic machine. Security planes also were hovering around the National Stadium.

Due to tight security, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) acting vice president, Athuman Nyamlani was stopped at the main gate by security officers after missing the official pass.

Meanwhile, the soccer fans yesterday cheered hard when President John Magufuli arrived at the National Stadium. President Magufuli also waved to the soccer fans before inspecting the teams before the kick off.
