TALKING POINT : Principle of separation of powers still a joke in Africa

Although the concept is noble, separation of powers in Africa still leaves a lot to be desired. Recent events in Africa, including the ongoing wrangle among some government officials over the arbitrary arrest of MPs in Tanzania, are a case in point.
I wish to make it clear from the outset that the principle of separation of powers has never been practiced to perfection anywhere in the world.
