Seven die, 20 injured in Kigoma as bus hits cargo train

Kigoma Regional Police Commander (RPC), Martin Otieno confirmed occurrence of accident in a telephone interview with The Citizen on Wednesday. 

Dar es Salaam. Seven people have died, 20 others hurt in Gungu area, Kigoma Region early Wednesday morning after a bus they were travelling in plunged into a cargo train.

Kigoma Regional Police Commander (RPC), Martin Otieno confirmed occurrence of accident in a telephone interview with The Citizen on Wednesday. They were traveling in Prince Hamida bus. 

“We are at the scene already as preliminary reports show that seven people have died on the spot and 20 others have been injured,” he said and added that the Police will give full details later today.

He said the bus driver which is plying between Kigoma and Nzega in Tabora Region, did not survive.
