Mwanza. Regional police boss here Jonathan Shanna has assured residents that they will be safe and their property protected during the season and beyond.
He called upon visitors in the region to peacefully participate in their activities and not be the source of chaos.
Mr Shanna said there were more police officers on patrol taking all the necessary check-up while controlling traffic.
"We are well organized. We knew this season would come and therefore as usual our squad is ready for anything. Let our people enjoy to their maximum but with respect," warned Shanna.
He explained that police would be ready set to uncover suspected bandits from their hideouts.
This comes a few days after one man decided to take his own life by throwing himself from a three storey building a few days ago. The deceased body has not yet been collected by the family members for burial.
A fortnight ago, police killed seven suspected bandits in Kishiri Ward, Nyamagana, a move that attracted the attention of Home Affairs minister Kangi Lugola wbo promised to promote ranks of police officers responsible for bringing down the bandits.
