What you need to know:

  • Mr Gwanda went missing from his Kibiti work post in November last year and his whereabouts has remained a mystery to this day.

Dar es Salaam. The wife of missing Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL) reporter Azory Gwanda, Ms Anna Pinoni, has reiterated calls to the government to assist her search for her husband.

Mr Gwanda went missing from his Kibiti work post in November last year and his whereabouts has remained a mystery to this day.

Anna made the request on Wednesday, September 5 when she visited MCL headquarters at Tabata, along Nelson Mandela Expressway in the city.

“I wish to see my husband back home so that he can join his family. He disappeared when I was a six-month pregnant. I now I have a baby girl, Gladness Azory,” she said.

Anna said had her husband been home, life wouldn’t have been as tough as it is currently.

“Right now I’m the only bread winner of our family,” she said adding that another child they have is seven years old  and is in Standard One in a primary school in Kibiti District, Coast Region.
