Government pledges to start implementing its blueprint in the new financial year

Dar es Salaam.  The government has said it will start implementing the blueprint regulatory reforms with effect from 2019-2020 financial year in order to improve the business climate in the country.

The Finance and Planning minister, Dr Phillip Mpango made the statement in Parliament on Thursday, June 13, 2019, when tabling the budget for 2019/20 fiscal year.

Tabling the budget, Dr Mpango said implementing the blueprint was among priorities put by the government in executing the 2019/20 budget.

“I would like to assure businessmen, investors and the general public that government will strongly start implementing the work plan to improve business climate in the country,” he said.

According to him, industrial development and agricultural prosperity was another priority as government is focusing on promoting investment and use of locally produced raw materials especially from the agricultural sector.

“Another priority will be building economy that promotes the development of citizens. The main focus will be improving social services that include health, education, skills, nutrition and provision of safe and clean water,” he said.

He added: Another emphasis will be preparing quality human resources in order to meet demands at the market place.

He said the budget has also paid emphasis in building and improving infrastructure, including, railway, ports, energy, roads and airports and create conducive environment for prosperity of businesses in the country.

He said monitoring and evaluation systems will also be strengthened on development projects that are implemented by the government.
