SMEs to benefit as I&M, Pesapal ink payments deal

Dar es Salaam. I&M Bank Tanzania has entered into a strategic partnership with Pesapal Tanzania to provide secure, reliable, and scalable payment solutions for physical and online transactions, targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized firms.

Pesapal Tanzania is a licensed payment service provider and digital solutions company.

The partnership, announced in Dar es Salaam on Friday, September 12, 2025, will enable I&M Bank Tanzania to expand support for business customers by offering access to Pesapal’s Point of Sale (POS) devices, e-commerce platforms, and mobile payment services on preferential terms.

“The partnership aims to empower Tanzanian enterprises, particularly SMEs and mid-sized firms, with secure, reliable, and scalable payment solutions for both physical and online transactions,” said I&M Bank Tanzania Chief Executive Officer Mr Zahid Mustafa.

Pesapal Tanzania Country Manager Bupe Mwakalundwa said: “By joining forces, I&M Bank Tanzania and Pesapal are advancing financial innovation while promoting convenient, cashless services for the business community.”
