When did you first realise that you wanted to be a writer?
When I was in primary school I had a dream of becoming a great lawyer who will also help people with no voice in the society. I dreamed of making the society to know their rights and avoid injustice, oppression and abuse. I think that is now realized through my writings and books.
Actually during my early years when I was pursuing my Law Degree at the University of Dar es salaam, that’s when I realised that I have a passion and a dream of becoming the best writer/author of great books that will change the nations and inspire generations.
Since then I have been trying to write some articles and other inspirational writings.
How long does it take you to write a book?
I take a maximum of one year to write a book. That includes conception of the idea of the book, research, writing and finally publication.
What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
Writing now has become my life, everyday I think about writing a new book. Every problem I see in the society I look at it with an eye of an opportunity to be solved through a book that I am the one responsible and indebted to write.
However I always put my vision of a particular book into a work plan and a timeframe for its completion which can be may be a part, chapter or two chapters every month and make sure I discipline myself to accomplish the task timely despite all the challenges and tight schedules.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
My interesting writing quirk is the accomplishment of the writing of the book itself and the acceptance of the book to the general public. It was very interesting to find out that there is no bookshop that does not need my book, my book is needed by all classes, ages and all professions.
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
The information for my books are obtained in the first place from practical experience of my legal consultancy services through which I have encountered several challenges and provided their solutions which have helped thousands of people.
I am a good reader of law books and I have acquainted myself with almost every law book which a good lawyer needs to have in order to make sure that am well informed. I also read a lot of inspirational and educational books which count a lot in my writings.
I have also been doing a lot of research in the society, in courts, websites, social networks and other sources of information which are relevant.
When did you write your first book?
I wrote my first book in 2011 known as – Jukwaa La Sheria. The book was birthed through the opportunity obtained to teach some law classes and seminars and encountering challenges in the society whose solution was just to get knowledge of the law.
The book contains 15 chapters addressing different day to day issues of law which everyone needs to know. They include application of knowledge of law, human rights, constitution, contracts, marriage, business, social and religious organizations, criminal law, defense, courts system and others.
The book was later followed by the publication of its English version titled: The Platform of Law. This was not only the English translation of my first book, but also the revised and expanded version of my first book because it contains more materials and it is more updated.
What does your family think of your writing?
I thank God that from the beginning my family has been so supportive to my vision of books writing. I thank God for my wife who assists me to type some pages, do research and organise materials. My children also like books and they wish that I write more books.
On the other hand these books now have become a source of income which also benefits the family. Therefore the family is very supportive in all stages of writing, publication and even selling.
What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
One of the most surprising things I learnt in creating my books is finding that my dream is coming true after the completion of the publication whereas I was also highly surprised to find myself rising above great academicians of the legal profession and other professions who have never published even a single book.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
Why?
I have written 3 books. The first one is Jukwaa La Sheria, which was followed by my second book titled; The Platform of Law followed by my recently released powerful book titled: Jukwaa la Sheria na Biashara (The Platform of Law and Business).
Actually it’s hard to tell which one is my favorite because I like all of them according to their functions, materials and message My new book is my favourite.
This is because it’s very powerful, practical and productive in the area of business. Therefore it’s more inspirational than legal. It builds up a strong foundation for a strong economy of an individual and of the corporate world. It doesn’t matter how broke you are, if you read this book and put it into practice, you will rise to great heights of success and great wealth.
