Dar es Salaam. NMB Bank Plc has reaffirmed its support to the needy.

The listed lender says it will continue to engage its customers with tailor-made products in the spirit of togetherness.

“As a bank, we will continue providing tailor-made products to suit our customers’ needs,” said the bank’s chief financial officer, Mr Juma Kimori.

He was speaking in Dar es Salaam over the weekend during Iftar dinner the financial institution hosted for its customers.

He added that gatherings such as the Iftar dinner were among platforms used “to interact with and understand our customers’ requirements better whilst strengthening our relationships”.

The Iftar gathering brought together over 350 people was graced by Mufti of Tanzania Abubakar Bin Zubeir who called for togetherness during the Holy month of Ramadhan.

NMB’s chief executive officer, Ms Ruth Zaipuna, said they hosted the dinner in order “to reaffirm our commitment to our customers”.

Ms Zaipuna added that Iftar dinner has been part of the bank’s long time tradition “to honour and celebrate the Holy month of Ramadhan”.

“We always organise Iftar dinners on an annual basis as a sign of gratitude for the continued trust by customers as their bank of your choice.

“We have started with Dar es Salaam today and we will be engaging with our customers across the country including Zanzibar and Pemba,” she said

Ms Zaipuna added that such events, including Iftar dinner, enabled the bank to appreciate its customers “for their continued patronage”.

Sheikh Zubeir lauded NMB Bank for showing courtesy to the Muslim community, adding that Muslims appreciated being recognized and respected.

He urged Muslims and non-Muslims alike to practise good deeds during the entire holy month of Ramadhan.

On his part, Dar es Salaam regional commissioner Amos Makala lauded ed the bank for its continued support to development projects across Dar es Salaam region.

Also in attendance were senior government officials from the commercial capital including district commissioners from the region and Dar es Salaam mayor Omar Kumbilamoto.
