“This is the third time that we are coming with help to this school. The first one was in August 2015 when we donated 30 desks for pupils with disability. Then, we also found that 90 per cent of students sit on the floor due to lack of desks and we decided to help,” said Ambassador Bertha Semu-Somi, noting that the organisation decided to bring Bank M on board and together, they organised a Charity Walk to raise money for the problem.
Through the Charity Walk, HMT succeeded in raising awareness on the shortage of desks at Majimatitu in which education stakeholders heeded the call, resulting into collection of funds that helped them to purchase 280 desks.
Speaking at the event, Mr Walden exuded confidence that students will embrace the support that seeks to build a culture of reading.
