Businessman enters race for Njombe Urban MP seat

Njombe. Businessman and trained medical doctor Moturi Nkombe has officially joined the race for the Njombe Urban parliamentary seat, collecting nomination forms under the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

Speaking after receiving the forms on Saturday, June 29, 2025, Mr Nkombe said his decision to seek the nomination was inspired by a personal conviction to serve the people of Njombe Urban.

“I am a doctor by profession, but I am currently engaged in business here in Njombe. It is my heartfelt desire to give back to the community through leadership and service,” he said.

He collected his nomination forms from the CCM District Secretary for Njombe, Mariam Kireti, at the party’s local office.

Mr Nkombe joins a growing list of CCM members expressing interest in contesting parliamentary seats ahead of the October 2025 General Election.
