Actress, singer Gynah to launch her first EP, Kahawa Night
Regina Kihwele better known as Gynah, a singer, songwriter, actress and fashion icon set to launch her first album that goes by the name G3’s Extended Playlist during the second edition of the annual Kahawa Night.
The event, taking place, today, Friday December 30 at the Museum and House of Culture in Dar City centre intends to promote and celebrate art, fashion, culture and music run under the theme ‘African Vintage’
This year, Kahawa Night will feature an exhibition of Gynah’s photography journey mixed with art done by other Tanzanian artists. A runway showcasing Kahawa designs, live performances by Gynah of songs from her EP, live entertainment by invited performers.
Being the brain behind Kahawa Gynah says, “I decided to name the annual event after my brand, in a bid to promote the Swahili culture,”
There will also be screening of short films produced by or directed by Gynah.
Meanwhile, the Museum hosts an Art explosion event, a monthly programme that showcases local talent every last Friday of the month. Now running for the sixth year
Chance Ezekiel, Head of Programmes at the Museum and House of Culture says, “We are looking forward to this show as we wind down 2022 and welcome 2023 while celebrating authentic Tanzanian talent this festive season.”
He adds that the art program is open to all artists who are ready to showcase their work to the public.
