Dar es Salaam. Businessman Enock Koola has emerged top in the Vunjo Constituency primaries, Moshi District, securing 1,999 votes and defeating the former Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Charles Kimei, who garnered 861 votes.
Announcing the results today, August 4, 2025, the Returning Officer for the primaries, Ramadhani Mahanyu, who is also the CCM Secretary for Moshi Rural, said a total of 4,080 votes were cast, with 26 spoilt ballots, leaving 4,054 valid votes.
Other contestants included Yuvenal Shirima (659 votes), Didas Lyamuya (329), Prosper Tesha (177), and Delphine Kessy (29).
“I hereby declare Enock Koola as the leading candidate in the Vunjo Constituency primaries. These results are provisional as the party’s internal processes are still ongoing,” Mahanyu said.
This is the second time Koola has led in the primaries. In 2020, during the party’s internal nomination process, Koola topped the list with 187 votes, followed closely by Dr. Kimei with 178. However, Dr. Kimei was chosen to fly the party’s flag in that year’s general election.
