Heavy three-hour long rain kills two, destroys dispensary

Chato. Rain that fell for three hours non-stop at Mwekako Village, Kasenga Ward, in Chato District has killed two children and destroyed property on Thursday, January 11.

Kasenga Councilor Damian Vilarie, confirmed the news adding that the downpour also destroyed a road section and 17 rooms of a dispensary that is still under construction.

He said the rain caused floods that swept the children of Mzee Kurwa who were going back home from Igalula Market.

The children were aged 13 and 2.

According to the Councilor, currently the ward leadership was evaluating the effects of the rain in the village.
