Dar es Salaam. Tanzania's growing reputation as a hub for technological advancement was underscored on May 21, 2025 when global electronics manufacturer Hisense launched a 116-inch television, the largest of its kind introduced on the African continent at an event in Dar es Salaam.

President for Hisense Middle East, Africa and India, Mr Jason Ou, said the company chose Tanzania as the launch site due to the country’s “tremendous technological progress” and enabling environment for investment and innovation.

“Tanzania was the natural choice for this launch,” he said. “We believe in the future of Tanzania and are proud to unveil the future here.”
