- The goal of the collaboration is to encourage Tanzanians to appreciate and consume locally made products as a way to promote homegrown brands and strengthen the national economy.
Dar es Salaam. Kalito’s Way Group (KWG), the company behind the popular restaurants Samaki Samaki, Kukukuku, and Wavuvi Kempu, has joined forces with Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) through its Serengeti Lite beer brand to promote Tanzanian-made food and drinks.
The two companies plan to run joint campaigns, promotions, and events that highlight the value of Tanzanian beer and inspire more citizens to embrace what’s proudly made at home.
Speaking on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, during the announcement, KWG Senior Officer Hellen Kazimoto said Serengeti Lite beer will be given a special place in all KWG restaurants because it is one of the most loved and respected brands in Tanzania.
She said the collaboration aims to enhance the customer experience in a way that reflects Tanzanian identity and culture, thanks to the quality of Serengeti beer, which carries the spirit of the nation.
“This move reflects a shared commitment between Kalito’s Way and Serengeti Breweries to reach, entertain, and unite Tanzanians,” she said.
Ms Kazimoto emphasized that in today’s fast-changing world, KWG is proud to stand by and promote Tanzanian-made beers that represent the pride and identity of the country.
“Kalito’s Way is more than just entertainment. We represent a generation that takes pride in local products from food to beverages made right here at home,” she added.
With the slogan We Support Tanzanian Beer, KWG says it will continue to celebrate local beverages and support efforts to grow the domestic economy through this collaboration.
As part of the agreement, Serengeti Lite will receive prominent placement in all KWG restaurants, and the campaign will also work to enhance customer experience by embracing Tanzanian culture and hospitality.
In a joint statement, the companies stressed that now is the time for Tanzanians to embrace and take pride in their own.
“We choose and celebrate our own beer. We Are Proudly Tanzanian,” they said.
That message aligns closely with KWG’s commitment to supporting local brands as part of a broader push to grow Tanzania’s food and beverage tourism.
